Video: Speeding BMW Overtakes Recklessly, Crashes Into Divider on Mumbai’s Coastal Road
Mumbai witnessed a dramatic accident on Monday when a speeding BMW, attempting to weave through traffic at high speed, lost control and crashed into a divider on the Coastal Road in Worli. The entire incident was caught on camera, showing the luxury vehicle overtaking a white WagonR and a Toyota Fortuner before violently smashing into the right-side divider.
Reckless Driving Leads to High-Speed Crash
The video of the crash reveals the BMW’s reckless maneuvering as it crisscrossed lanes in an attempt to overtake other vehicles. Within moments, the driver lost control, and the high-end car slammed into the divider, leaving it completely mangled. Miraculously, the driver escaped with only minor injuries. Authorities confirmed that no other people were harmed in the accident.
Following the crash, Worli Police registered a case against the driver and have begun further investigations.
Coastal Road: A Tragic History of BMW Accidents
This is not the first time a high-speed BMW has been involved in a crash on the Mumbai Coastal Road. Last year, a fatal accident took place when a BMW, driven by a diamond merchant, struck a worker during road construction. The victim succumbed to injuries on the spot. The tragic incident occurred when the road was partially opened to the public, raising concerns over reckless driving on the under-construction expressway.
With rising incidents of luxury car crashes due to overspeeding and reckless driving, authorities may need to tighten regulations to prevent further mishaps on Mumbai’s high-speed corridors.
