Triumph Speed T4 gets permanent price cut of Rs. 18,000: Now Starting at Rs. 1.99 lakh

Triumph Motorcycles India formally changed the pricing of its most affordable motorbike after announcing a ₹18,000 decrease on the Speed T4 in December 2024. Launched at ₹2.17 lakh last year, the Triumph Speed T4 is now permanently discounted to ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Speed T4, which is based on the Triumph Speed 400, has a nearly equal torque output but less power and features.
A roadster designed specifically for the Indian market, the Triumph Speed T4 promises a more laid-back riding experience. The engine and chassis are identical to those of the Speed 400, but the output has been reduced to 30.6 horsepower and 36 Nm of peak torque to make the vehicle more torque-friendly. At 2,500 rpm, about 85% of the torque is accessible. A six-speed gearbox is matched with the motor.
In addition, the Triumph Speed T4 now has telescopic forks rather than USD forks, MRF tires in place of Vredestian tires, and a black exhaust system rather than an aluminum one like the Speed 400. Features like ride-by-wire, traction control, electronic throttle, and an immobiliser are also gone from the bike. 300 mm front and 230 mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS provide braking power.
The Triumph Speed 400, which retails for ₹2.40 lakh (ex-showroom), was ₹23,000 more expensive than the roadster when the Triumph Speed T4 was introduced. The versions now differ by a substantial ₹41,000 due to the recent price reduction. This should help establish the Speed 400 as a more high-end product. In our evaluation, we even stated that the Speed T4 would perform better if its pricing were at least ₹10,000 less.
The Triumph Speed T4 is now more reasonably priced in comparison to models like as the Hero Mavrick 440, Honda CB350RS, Jawa 42 FJ 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350, and Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. At a somewhat higher price, the Speed T4 would be a more appealing upgrade for those considering the Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
