Pune, January 14, 2025 – The ongoing construction of the Tata Metro on Ganeshkhind Road, between Pune University Chowk and Shivajinagar Court, has led to temporary traffic diversions to ensure smooth vehicular movement and reduce congestion. Tata Projects is currently working on two major tasks at Pune University Chowk:

  • Construction of the Baner Ramp for the double-decker flyover.
  • Work related to PMR 19/02.

Since the Baner Ramp and the PMR 19/02 pillars will extend on both sides of the road, the Pune Traffic Police has issued temporary diversions under the Motor Vehicle Act, as notified by the Maharashtra Government. These changes will be effective from January 15, 2025, until further notice.

New Traffic Arrangements:

  • Vehicles from Baner towards Shivajinagar: Traffic from Baner will be diverted onto Aundh Road. Vehicles can take a U-turn near the Raj Bhavan stretch and proceed towards Shivajinagar via Pune University Road.
  • Vehicles from Shivajinagar towards Aundh: Traffic will pass straight through Pune University Chowk and continue on Aundh Road.
  • Vehicles from Aundh towards Shivajinagar: Traffic will be rerouted through the Millennium Gate near Chatushrungi Police Station, passing through Pune University Campus via the Y-junction and exiting through the university’s main entrance.

Appeal to Citizens:

The Pune Traffic Police has urged citizens to follow the designated routes and cooperate with traffic personnel and volunteers for smooth implementation of these changes.

These temporary measures aim to facilitate the progress of the metro construction while minimizing inconvenience for commuters. Citizens are advised to plan their travel accordingly.
