This development comes just two weeks after Elon Musk met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter’s visit to the United States. The meeting, which focused on topics such as space exploration, mobility, technology, and innovation, appears to have accelerated Tesla’s plans for India. Following the discussion, Tesla posted job listings for 14 positions in the country across Mumbai, Pune and Delhi, signaling its commitment to establishing a strong presence in the Indian market.

In addition to the Mumbai showroom, Tesla is also working on opening a second outlet in Delhi’s Aerocity, further expanding its footprint in India. The company’s entry into the Indian market is expected to boost the adoption of electric vehicles in the country, aligning with the government’s push for sustainable mobility solutions.

Prime Minister Modi, reflecting on his meeting with Musk, highlighted India’s efforts toward reform and its commitment to “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.” The collaboration between Tesla and India is seen as a step forward in fostering innovation and technological advancement in the country.

With its first showroom set to open in one of Mumbai’s most prestigious business districts, Tesla is poised to make a grand entry into the Indian market, offering its cutting-edge electric vehicles to a growing base of environmentally conscious consumers.
