On the eve of Monsoon Session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, a press conference was organized along with a tea ceremony to inform press and public about the important decisions taken during Maharashtra Cabinet Meeting on June 26.

This event by was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde and the Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, among others and the representatives of the press.

Maharashtra Cabinet Meeting on June 26 – Important Decisions

Thane and Mira-Bhayandar – Strict action would be taken against illegal pubs and bars to make Thane and Mira-Bhayandar cities drug free. The Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed the municipal and police commissioners of both the cities to move bulldozers on the illegal constructions related to drugs in the city and destroy them.

Widow Property Inheritance Certificate – After the death of the husband, women have to get inheritance certificate from the civil court to register as an heir on their husband’s property. It was approved in the cabinet meeting to reduce the certificate fee from Rs. 75000 to Rs. 10000.

Cancer Hospital in Chandrapur – A 100-bed cancer hospital is being started through Cancer Care Foundation on a private partnership basis through District Mineral Foundation, Chandrapur and Tata Nyas Trust. It was decided to exempt this foundation from stamp duty for this project.

Virar-Alibaug Multi Modal Transport Corridor – A loan of Rs. 22,250 crore from HUDCO was approved for land acquisition of ‘Virar to Alibag Multi-Modal Transport Corridor’ project. A total of 1130 hectares of land is to be acquired and a total of 215.80 hectares of land has already been acquired.

Pune Ring Road – A loan of Rs. 5500 crore loan from HUDCO was approved for land acquisition of Pune Ring Road East project. A fund of Rs. 1876.29 crore has already been given for the land acquisition of this project.

Mumbai Metro-3 – In order to start Mumbai Metro-3 early, the state government’s share of Rs. 1163 crore was approved to be given to Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation through MMRDA. The revised cost of the Mumbai Metro-3 project is Rs. 37,275.50 crore and the work of the project is 98 percent complete. It is planned to start the first phase from Seepz to BKC by September 2024 and complete the project by the end of December 2024.

Mahalaxmi Central Park – An ambitious project of international standard Central Public Park is being developed at Mahalakshmi Race Course and the government has decided to complete it within the prescribed period. In this regard lease of plot given to Royal Western India Turf Club will be revised.

Out of the total 211 acres of land required for this project, approximately 91 acres of government land has been leased to Royal Western India Turf Club Ltd. from June 01 2023 to 31 May 2053 for a maximum period of 30 years has been approved subject to terms and conditions.

Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana – A loan of $310 million from the Asian Development Bank was approved for upgrading 3909 km of roads in phase-2 of Chief Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana. Another 10 thousand km of road are planned to be constructed in this phase.
