Speeding Truck Collides with Mumbai-Amravati Express Near Bodwad, Disrupts Rail Services

In a startling incident early this morning, a speeding truck collided with the Mumbai-Amravati Express near Bodwad railway station in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district. The accident, which occurred around 4 AM, disrupted rail services but, fortunately, resulted in no injuries to passengers or the truck driver.
The collision took place between the Bhusawal and Badnera sections of the Bhusawal division. According to preliminary reports, the truck entered the railway tracks through a closed railway crossing, crashing into the train. The impact caused significant damage to some of the train coaches and the truck itself. Fortunately, the train was moving at a slow speed at the time of the collision, averting a potential disaster.
The incident led to the temporary suspension of rail services on both up and down routes, affecting several trains, particularly those on the busy Mumbai-Howrah route. Passengers faced delays and inconvenience as authorities worked to clear the debris and restore normal operations.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) and local police teams rushed to the spot immediately after the incident. The truck driver fled the scene but was later found unharmed. Authorities are investigating the ownership of the truck and why it attempted to cross a closed railway crossing.
Railway traffic was restored by 8:50 AM, bringing relief to passengers and officials alike. The railway department has assured that temporary arrangements were made to minimize disruptions, and disaster management teams worked efficiently to resume operations.
This incident has once again raised concerns about safety at unmanned or poorly maintained railway crossings, highlighting the need for stricter enforcement and infrastructure upgrades to prevent such accidents in the future.
