Pune’s much-anticipated Inner Ring Road project, spearheaded by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), is making significant progress and is poised to revolutionize connectivity across Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. The ambitious 83.12 km road project spans 44 villages in Khed, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval talukas, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance infrastructure in the region.

Key Highlights of the Project:

  • Project Scope: 83.12 km road covering 44 villages across Khed, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval talukas.
  • Land Acquisition: 743.41 hectares of land, with accelerated progress in the first phase (4.7 km from Solu to Vadgaon Shinde).
  • Budget Allocation: ₹113 crore allocated for the first phase, with 30% compensation already deposited.
  • Total Project Cost: ₹14,200 crore to enhance Pune’s infrastructure and divert heavy traffic from city roads.
  • Major Features: Includes 17 bridges, 10 tunnels, and a 5-meter reservation for Metro tracks.
  • Expected Impact: Reduced congestion, improved traffic flow, and better connectivity across Pune’s key areas.

Despite initial delays, the project is now moving forward swiftly, thanks to accelerated land acquisition and strong government support. Mahesh Landge, MLA of Bhosari Pune, shared this update, highlighting the project’s potential to transform Pune’s infrastructure and divert heavy traffic away from city roads.
