Who Will Get the ₹1 Lakh Reward?

Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized that the reward is specifically for the person who gave the “trigger information”—the last critical input that directly led to the arrest. While multiple police teams and villagers assisted in the search, this final tip played a decisive role in locating and detaining the accused. The identity of the individual who provided this information has not yet been disclosed, but they will be honored by the Pune Police.

Gunat Village to Be Felicitated

The Commissioner also extended gratitude to the villagers of Gunat, stating that 400 to 500 locals actively supported the police operation. In recognition of their efforts, the entire village will be felicitated. This operation saw a massive deployment of over 500 police officers, including teams from the Crime Branch and Swargate police, assisted by drone surveillance and dog squads.

Swift Investigation and Arrest

The police initiated their investigation within an hour of receiving the complaint and identified the accused within 1.5 hours. By 2 PM on Tuesday, police teams had reached Gunat village and spent three days tracking Gade before arresting him at 1:10 AM today.

Pune Police Focus on Women’s Safety

Following this case, a city-wide safety review has been conducted, and Pune Police will now work on mapping isolated areas in Pune to enhance security for women. Commissioner Kumar reiterated that this arrest was a result of a joint operation involving multiple police teams, and no individual or department is solely taking credit.
