The initiative, spearheaded by Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMPML), is expected to significantly improve service efficiency and enhance public transport connectivity across the city’s expanding suburban zones including Hinjawadi.

The Charholi depot will manage a fleet of 60 e-buses, serving key areas like Alandi, Vishrantwadi, Lohgaon, Wagholi, and the airport zone. This move is set to offer better transit options for residents in the PMRDA region. Meanwhile, the Maan depot, with a fleet of 32 e-buses, is designed to serve Pune’s burgeoning IT corridor—catering to tech professionals and nearby residential communities.

These depots are positioned as strategic hubs in the city’s effort to modernize its transport infrastructure. As part of the upgrade, features such as live bus tracking and digital stop announcements will be available via the official transport mobile app, promising a smoother and more informed commuter experience.

Senior government officials including PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh and PMPML Managing Director Deepa Mudhol Munde were present during the inauguration ceremony, underscoring the importance of this development. Citizens were invited to participate and are being encouraged to adopt environmentally friendly travel options.
