Pune: Two Killed in Tragic Accident as Speeding Motorcycle Crashes into Electric Pole in Ambegaon

In a tragic incident late Tuesday night, two individuals lost their lives after a speeding motorcycle crashed into an electric pole in the Jambhulwadi area of Ambegaon. The victims have been identified as Datta Kalyan Chormale, a resident of Jambhulwadi, and his friend Shrikant Gurav.
According to the police report filed by Constable Prakash Shinde at the Ambegaon Police Station, the accident occurred around midnight near Gatha Swimming Pool on Jambhulwadi Road. Chormale, who was riding the motorcycle at high speed with Gurav as the pillion rider, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a metal electric pole on the roadside. Both sustained severe head injuries in the crash.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Senior Police Inspector Sharad Zine visited the scene. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital but were declared dead during treatment due to the severity of their injuries. Police Sub-Inspector Suresh Shinde is investigating the case, and authorities have confirmed that overspeeding was the primary cause of the accident.
This incident adds to a series of road accidents in the Katraj area. In a separate incident near Katraj Dairy on Monday afternoon, a motorcyclist was killed after being hit by an ambulance. Over the past two days, three people have lost their lives in road accidents in the region, raising concerns about road safety.
