Pune: Two Arrested for Robbing Farmer at Gunpoint in Mahalunge

The Mahalunge MIDC police arrested two men on Saturday for allegedly robbing a 50-year-old farmer, Vilas Kaldoke, of ₹2,200 at gunpoint. The incident occurred late on Friday night when Kaldoke, a resident of Biradwadi in Khed taluka, was walking home.
The accused, identified as Omkar Bisnare (24) and Atul Tambe (18), both originally from Beed district, intercepted Kaldoke near Y Junction in Mahalunge. They threatened him with a country-made pistol and stole cash from his pocket. When Kaldoke raised an alarm, passersby attempted to intervene, but the duo threatened them as well and fled the scene.
The police, during their night patrol, noticed suspicious activity and apprehended Bisnare. Kaldoke, who was at the police station to file a complaint, immediately identified Bisnare as one of the robbers. Tambe was later arrested with a firearm and two live rounds.
Datta Jadhav, police sub-inspector, revealed that Bisnare has a criminal history with at least 15 prior cases, while Tambe has been involved in four cases. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.
