Pune: Tragic accident on old Mumbai-Pune highway, bus runs over couple, wife dies on the spot
Pune, May 01, 2024: A tragic accident took place on the old Mumbai-Pune highway, resulting in the death of a lady, while her husband was seriously injured after their bike collided with a private luxury bus.
The couple, Surekha and Anand Sanas, were travelling on their motorbike from Navi Mumbai to Pune when between Lonavala and Khandala, during a difficult turn, their motorbike collided with a private luxury bus coming from the opposite direction.
Surekha Anand Sanas died on the spot while Anand Sehdev Sanas was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The accident was captured in the CCTV of nearby Zara hotel and the bus driver has been arrested. Lonavala police are investigating the accident.
Accidents have been on the rise on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. This accident once again brought back the memories of a recent accident on the old Mumbai-Pune highway at Naigaon near Kamshet which resulted in the death of two while four others were injured.
