Pune: Traffic Diversions on Baner Road on February 22, Citizens Urged to Cooperate
Pune, February 21, 2025 – The Pune City Traffic Branch has announced temporary traffic changes on Baner Road on February 22, 2025, due to the Western Regional Meeting organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The meeting will be attended by VIPs from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu, necessitating special traffic arrangements.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Amol Zende, has issued an appeal to citizens to cooperate with the diversions to ensure smooth traffic flow and security.
Traffic Diversions on Baner Road:
- Vehicles traveling from University Chowk to Radha Chowk via Baner Road must turn left at Ganraj Chowk and proceed via Kia Showroom Underpass or Nanavare Underpass.
- Vehicles coming from the Mumbai-Bangalore Bypass to Baner Road must take a left at Balewadi Check Post and proceed via High Street and Ganraj Chowk.
- Vehicles traveling from Pune City to Hinjawadi, Wakad, Lonavala, or Mumbai are advised to avoid Baner Road and use Pashan Road via Chandni Chowk or Aundh Road from University Chowk.
Heavy Vehicle Restrictions:
- Heavy and oversized vehicles will be prohibited from entering the following routes from 00:01 AM to 11:59 PM on February 22, 2025:
- University Chowk to Chandni Chowk via Pashan Road
- University Chowk to Radha Chowk via Baner Road
- University Chowk to Rajiv Gandhi Bridge via Aundh Road
Citizens are advised to follow the instructions and cooperate with traffic authorities to avoid inconvenience.
