Pune: Traffic Diversions Issued During Eid Prayers Tomorrow Near Golibar Maidan

As Pune gears up for Ramzan Eid on Monday, March 31, the city’s traffic police have implemented strategic diversions around Golibar Maidan Chowk to accommodate the large congregation expected for Eid prayers. With thousands of devotees set to gather at the Eidgah Ground, authorities are taking steps to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth traffic flow.
Key Traffic Changes to Note
From 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Solapur Road between Bhairobanala Chowk and Golibar Maidan Chowk will be completely closed. Heavy vehicles heading towards Swargate will need to take detours via Prince of Wales Road and Lullanagar, while light vehicles should use Empress Garden as an alternate route.
Motorists coming from Swargate towards Golibar Maidan will be redirected through Seven Loves Chowk (Dhole Patil Chowk), Salisbury Park, and Khatav Bungalow. Additionally, traffic between Solapur Bazaar Chowki and Golibar Maidan Chowk will remain restricted.
Alternate Routes Suggested
For those traveling within the Pune Cantonment area, recommended routes include Khane Maruti Chowk, Poolgate Bus Station, Solapur Bazaar Chowk, Napier Road, and Khatav Bungalow Chowk. The traffic police have also restricted movement from Lullanagar Chowk towards Golibar Maidan Chowk during prayer hours.
Similar arrangements will be in place at other Eidgah grounds across Pune. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende has urged commuters to cooperate with authorities and follow the diversions to avoid congestion.
With these measures, Pune aims to ensure a peaceful and hassle-free Eid celebration for all residents.
