Pune: Traffic Diversions Announced for ‘Tarang-2025’ on 15th and Lokmat Mahamarathon on 16th February

Pune News: The Pune Traffic Police has issued temporary traffic regulations for two major events in the city: the “Tarang-2025” program and the Lokmat Mahamarathon. These changes aim to ensure smooth and safe traffic movement during the events.

Tarang-2025 Program:
The “Tarang-2025” program will be held at the Police Headquarters, Shivajinagar, on 15th February 2025. Due to the presence of V.V.I.P.s and dignitaries, the following traffic changes will be implemented from 4 PM to Midnight:

  • The road from Shimla Chowk to Hardikar Petrol Pump to Veer Chaphekar Chowk will be closed for all vehicles.
  • Alternate Route: Shimla Chowk → In front of Pride Hotel → Veer Chaphekar Over Bridge → Suryamukhi Chowk.

Citizens are requested to use the alternate route and cooperate with traffic staff and volunteers.

Lokmat Mahamarathon:
Under the jurisdiction of Baner and Chatushrungi Traffic Department, Lokmat Newspaper, will organize a Mahamarathon on 16th February 2025. The marathon route will cover Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Complex, Mhalunge, Radha Chowk, Balewadi High Street, Mamta Chowk, Laxmi Mata Mandir Chowk, Ganesh Dutt Mandir Chowk, Jupiter Hospital Chowk, Alom County Road, Aundh Baner Link Road, Medipoint Chowk, Nagars Road, Bhale Chowk, West End Mall Road, Parihar Chowk, Bremen Chowk, and Raj Bhavan, returning to the Sports Complex.

Traffic changes will be in effect from 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM:

  1. Radha Chowk to Saikar Chowk: Closed for all traffic (4:00 AM – 9:00 AM).
  2. Saikar Chowk to Radha Chowk: Closed in both directions.
  3. Saikar Chowk to Mamta Chowk: Closed (4:00 AM – 9:00 AM).
  4. Mamta Chowk to Saikar Chowk: Closed in both directions.
  5. Specific routes will have right-side traffic, with the left side reserved for the marathon.
  6. Raj Bhavan to Rishi Malhotra Chowk: Completely closed.
  7. No parking or halting on the marathon route from 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
