Pune: Traffic Changes Announced for Mahashivaratri Celebrations in the City

Pune City Traffic Police have announced traffic changes in the city for Mahashivratri celebrations on Wednesday. The changes will be effective from 8 am to 10 pm and are primarily aimed at facilitating festivities at Punyeshwar Temple in Faraskhana and Tarakeshwar Temple in Yerawada.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende issued the notifications on Tuesday, clarifying that emergency services, police, and military vehicles will be exempt from the restrictions.
In the Faraskhana Traffic Division, Punyeshwar Road and Agarwal Road will be closed for traffic. Vehicles traveling from Kumbharves Chowk to Phadke Haud Chowk will be diverted via Jijamata Chowk and Ganesh Road, while those moving from Phadke Haud Chowk to Kumbharves Chowk will take Futka Buruj, Bajiroad, and Gadgil Statue. Vehicles from Kamla Nehru Hospital to Agarwal Road will be rerouted via Daruwala Bridge, Devaji Baba Chowk, Phadke Haud, and Ganesh Road.
In the Yerawada Traffic Division, the road from Tarakeshwar Chowk to Gunjan Chowk will be closed. Traffic from Tarakeshwar Chowk will be diverted via Shahadalbaba Chowk and Ambedkar Chowk. Additionally, traffic from Sangamwadi to Tarakeshwar Chowk will be halted and rerouted via Ambedkar Chowk, while vehicles from Chandrama Chowk to Tarakeshwar Chowk will be diverted via Shahadalbaba Chowk and Golf Club Chowk.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the festival.
