Pune: Three Rob Jewellery Shop Using Toy Gun, Flee With 220 Grams of Gold

In a shocking daylight heist, three unidentified men looted over 220 grams of gold ornaments from a jewellery shop in Pune’s Dhayari area on Tuesday afternoon by threatening the owner with a toy gun.
The incident occurred around 2.50 pm at Shri Jewellers Shop located at Kalubai Chowk in Raykar Mala. Shop owner Vishnu Sakharam Dahiwal and an employee were present at the time. According to the police, one man entered the shop under the pretext of buying a gold chain. While the owner was attending to him, two more men stormed in.
“The trio began abusing the owner. One of them pulled out what appeared to be a firearm and threatened the owner. It was later confirmed to be a toy gun,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam. As the robbers began snatching jewellery, Dahiwal tried to resist. He was assaulted with the butt of the toy gun, which broke during the scuffle. The assailants then fled with the gold on a motorcycle.
All three suspects had their faces covered with masks. CCTV footage and clues from the crime scene are helping police in their investigation. Authorities are also tracking the motorcycle used in the getaway.
Descriptions of the suspects have been released:
- The first man, approximately 35 years old, wore a red half-sleeve t-shirt and blue jeans.
- The second suspect, around 25, wore a full black round-neck t-shirt, black cap, and black pants.
- The third suspect, also about 25, wore a cream full-sleeve round-neck t-shirt, white jeans, white shoes, a khaki cap, and carried a black backpack.
Police are urging citizens to remain alert and report any leads that could help in identifying and apprehending the suspects.
