Pune: Swargate Rape Accused Dattatray Gade Arrested by Police After Intensive Search | Watch

Pune Police have arrested Dattatray Gade (37), the accused in the Swargate bus rape case, from Shirur Tehsil on Friday. The 26-year-old victim was allegedly raped by Gade, a history-sheeter, early Tuesday morning inside an ST bus at Pune’s Swargate bus station.
Gade, who has a criminal record involving theft, robbery, and chain-snatching in Pune and Ahilyanagar districts, was out on bail since 2019. Following the incident, 13 police teams were deployed across the state, utilizing sniffer dogs and drones to locate the accused. The search operation focused on sugarcane fields in Shirur Tehsil, leading to Gade’s arrest in Gunat village.
