Pune: Sinhgad Road Flyover Likely to Open on Sunday

Pune News – The construction of the Vitthalwadi to FunTime Theatre flyover on Sinhgad Road has been completed. Pune Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale recently inspected the flyover by riding a two-wheeler on it. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is expected to inaugurate the flyover, with the event likely scheduled for Sunday, April 27.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertook the construction of three flyovers between Rajaram Bridge and FunTime Theatre on Sinhgad Road at a cost of ₹118 crore. The 650-meter-long flyover at Rajaram Bridge Chowk was inaugurated a few months ago. Now, the 2,120-meter-long Vitthalwadi to FunTime Theatre flyover is complete and awaiting inauguration. Meanwhile, work on the Manikbagh to Hingne Petrol Pump flyover is 70% complete, with the remaining work expected to take two more months.
Although the Vitthalwadi-FunTime Theatre flyover was completed by March-end, additional time was spent installing streetlights and signboards. Some citizens have alleged delays in opening the flyover due to unavailability of ministers for the inauguration. Following these complaints, Commissioner Bhosale inspected the flyover and directed minor repairs to be completed within eight days, paving the way for its likely opening on April 27.
Meanwhile, MP Supriya Sule shared a video of the flyover on social media and urged the administration to open it for public use without waiting for a formal inauguration to ease traffic congestion.
