Threats Turn Violent

The victim, a 46-year-old man, had taken a loan of ₹7.73 lakh from a private financial institution in Shivajinagar for his daughter’s education. After consistently paying ₹18,000 per month for two years, he missed a single EMI due to financial struggles.

On March 25, he reportedly received threatening calls from the institution, including verbal abuse and demands for immediate payment. Despite explaining his situation in person, the harassment escalated. Two days later, two bouncers forcibly entered his home in Shantinagar Vasahat, assaulted him, and refused to leave until he paid.

Police Take Swift Action

After the victim filed a complaint, the Wanawadi police arrested the attackers – Aakash Purushottam Sapa (32) and Rishikesh Nagnath Chandanshive (26). Investigations revealed that the assault was ordered by the manager at the financial institution, who has now been booked.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Dr. Rajkumar Shinde is overseeing further investigations. This case has raised serious concerns about unethical loan recovery practices and the safety of borrowers facing financial hardship.
