Pune City Traffic Police have announced road closures, diversions, parking arrangements, and changes to PMPML bus routes for Shivjayanti 2025 celebrations. These measures will be in effect from 6 am on Wednesday until the processions conclude, ensuring smooth traffic flow and public safety as thousands gather to celebrate Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary.

Traffic Diversions for Shivjayanti 2025 in Pune

  • Jijamata Chowk to Swargate via Shivaji Road will be diverted from SG Barwe Chowk, Jangali Maharaj Road, Khandoji Baba Chowk, and Tilak Road due to the ‘Jai Bharat, Jai Shivaji’ Padyatra.
  • Ganesh Road to Phadke Huad and Jijamata Chowk traffic will be redirected via Daruwala Bridge.
  • Laxmi Road diversions will occur through Sant Kabir Chowk and Samarth Division during the processions.
  • Puram Chowk to Shivajinagar via Bajirao Road traffic will be diverted via Tilak Road, Alka Talkies Chowk, and Fergusson College Road.
  • Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk and Bajirao Road to Futka Buruj traffic will be redirected via Kelkar Road.

Parking Arrangements for Shivjayanti 2025

Temporary parking facilities will be available at:

  • Sangamwadi Parking (for travelers from the eastern side)
  • FC Ground Parking (for those coming via FC Road)
  • Nadipatra Parking (for visitors from Shivaji Nagar)
  • Agri College Ground (for those approaching from JM Road)

PMPML Bus Route Modifications

Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will operate on alternate routes during the celebrations. Commuters should check updated bus schedules.

‘Jai Shivaji – Jai Bharat’ Padyatra Traffic Restrictions

The special padyatra will take place from 7 am to 2 pm, covering COEP Ground, SG Barve Chowk, ASPMS College (Shivaji Statue), and other locations. Traffic restrictions will be enforced on FC Road and JM Road during this time.
