Pune: Proposal for Additional Land Acquisition for Ring Road Submitted to State Government

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has submitted a proposal to the state government for acquiring additional land in the eastern and western sections of the upcoming Outer Ring Road project. The proposal includes acquiring land in 10 villages for the western segment and 22 villages for the eastern segment.

Once approved, the district administration will initiate the land acquisition process. Additionally, due to realignment changes in Chambli and Hiware villages, further land acquisition will be required in these areas. Officials confirmed that 30 hectares of land in the eastern section will be acquired within the next fortnight.

Project Details

The Outer Ring Road aims to ease traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The MSRDC is overseeing the project and has sought extra land for service roads and utilities.

  • Western Section: Land will be acquired in Chandkhed, Muthe, Katawadi, Khopi, Bahuli, Rahatwade, Urse, Ghotawade, Parandwadi, and Kasar Amboli.
  • Eastern Section: Affected villages include Nanoli (Akurdi), Lonikand, Bakori, Bivari, Koregaon Mul, Pawarwadi, Garade, Dive, Chambli, Vadgaon Maval, Sudumbare, Khalumbre, Hiware, Kuruli, Solu, Nighoje, Dhanore, Sonori, and Dhapewadi.

Progress Update

  • The western section’s acquisition is nearing completion, with five companies assigned preliminary work. However, an official groundbreaking ceremony is pending.
  • In the eastern section, 265 hectares are earmarked for acquisition, with 30 hectares remaining.

Officials, including MSRDC Joint Managing Director Laxminarayan Mishra and Pune Collector Jitendra Dudi, have directed authorities to finalize pending acquisitions by April 25, ensuring completion within 15 days.
