Pune: Police Officers Assure Zero Tolerance for Crime During Police-Citizen Dialogue in Baner-Balewadi, Address Traffic Woes

Pune: The Balewadi Welfare Federation successfully organized a Police-Citizen Dialogue on March 8, fostering active participation from local residents. The event, held in Balewadi, saw Senior Police Inspector Navnath Jagtap of Baner Police Station and Traffic Department Head Shafil Pathan addressing key concerns such as traffic congestion, crime prevention, and encroachments.
Inspector Jagtap provided valuable insights on combating cyber crimes, ensuring women’s safety, and safeguarding senior citizens. He emphasized the importance of social media safety and assured residents of enhanced patrolling in crime-prone areas. Residents were urged to report incidents promptly by dialing 112 for immediate police response.
On the issue of traffic bottlenecks at Radha Chowk, Inspector Pathan pledged swift corrective measures. He highlighted plans for on-ground inspections, installation of traffic signals where needed, and removal of obstructions to ensure smoother traffic flow. Both officers actively listened to residents’ grievances, took detailed notes, and promised necessary action.
The event began with a welcome address by Iris Society Secretary Jyoti Meshram, followed by introductions by Federation Chairman Ramesh Rokde and concluding remarks by Vice Chairman Ashok Nawal. The program’s success was credited to the efforts of Federation Vice President Parshuram Tare, Secretary Indrajit Kulkarni, and other committee members.
Residents expressed their gratitude for the initiative, appreciating the police officials’ commitment to addressing their concerns and improving community safety.
