The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has announced a series of long-term infrastructure projects aimed at alleviating severe traffic congestion in Hinjawadi IT Park and surrounding industrial zones. Key Road Projects for Hinjawadi IT Park

PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase has outlined several major road development projects to enhance connectivity for key industrial hubs. A significant focus is on improving road links in and around Hinjawadi IT Park, where thousands of employees face daily traffic snarls.

The key projects in the Hinjawadi area include:

  • 1.5 km road from Mahalunge to Hinjawadi Phase-1 (36 meters wide) at a cost of ₹13.05 crore.
  • 2.4 km road from Thakar Vasti to Maan Gavthan, costing ₹20.88 crore.
  • 3.5 km road from Surya Hospital to Thakar Vasti, with a budget of ₹30.45 crore.
  • 7.1 km road from Urwade to Hinjawadi Phase 3 (45 meters wide) at a cost of ₹14.50 crore.
  • 1.5 km road from Nande to Maan (30 meters wide), costing ₹15 crore.
  • 3.93 km road from Nande to Lavale, with an estimated cost of ₹8 crore.

These projects are part of a broader ₹203 crore initiative to improve road connectivity across Pune’s key industrial corridors. PMRDA has identified 10 major road stretches spanning nearly 60 km to improve connectivity between industrial zones such as Ranjangaon, Pirangut, and Hinjawadi.

Enhanced Industrial Connectivity

In addition to Hinjawadi, the project will also improve road links between:

  • Ranjangaon MIDC and Pune-Ahmednagar Road
  • Pirangut and Pune-Satara Road
  • Talegaon-Chakan MIDC and Nashik Highway
  • Hinjawadi IT Park and Pune-Satara Road
  • Kolad National Highway

PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase stated, “These roads will be developed at a cost of ₹169.78 crore, with an additional ₹34 crore allocated for other industrial connectivity projects.”

State Government Support

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has approved ₹203.78 crore for these critical infrastructure upgrades. The improvements in road connectivity are expected to reduce travel time, ease congestion, and enhance overall industrial productivity in Pune’s rapidly growing economic hubs.

With timely execution, these projects promise to bring significant relief to the daily commuters of Hinjawadi IT Park and surrounding industrial areas.
