Pune: PMRDA Holds Crucial Meeting on Unauthorized, Dangerous Hoardings

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) held a significant meeting on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Dipti Suryavanshi-Patil, to address issues related to unauthorized and dangerous hoardings. The meeting included discussions with hoarding stakeholders and associations, focusing on obtaining proper permissions, immediate removal of hazardous hoardings, and resolving organizational challenges.

The meeting was conducted under the guidance of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Deepak Singla, and Police Commissioner & Vigilance Officer Amol Tambe. Attendees included Deputy District Collector Pramod Kudale, Tehsildar Ravindra Ranjane and Sachin Maske, Assistant Town Planner Rahul Geete, Branch Engineers Vishnu Awhad, Rituraj Sonawane, Dipti Ghuse, Vishal Bhore, along with hoarding association president Prakash Jamdade and vice-president Shekhar Mate.

Key Directives from the Meeting:

✅ Immediate removal of dangerous hoardings in crowded and high-traffic areas.
✅ Unauthorized hoardings on major roads, including Hinjawadi, Haveli, Wagholi, Manjari, Pune-Satara Road, and Pune-Solapur Road, must be dismantled.
✅ Deadline of April 8, 2025, for submitting pending permission applications—failure will result in hoardings being deemed illegal and removed.
✅ No new hoardings without prior approval; unauthorized installations will face swift action.
✅ Only one hoarding per structure allowed to prevent overcrowding.
✅ Strict liability on owners, advertisers, and property holders in case of accidents caused by hoardings.

Strict penalties will be imposed for violations of these regulations.
