Pune: PMC Warns Citizens Against Fake Messages About Water Connection Disconnection
Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a strong warning to citizens after receiving reports of fraudulent messages being circulated around April 14, 2025. These messages falsely claim that water connections will be disconnected if pending meter-related dues are not cleared.
According to PMC, these messages are not from the Water Supply Department and are part of a scam by unidentified individuals. The civic body has urged residents not to engage in any online transactions with unknown mobile numbers or individuals and avoid clicking on any suspicious links shared through such messages.
To check genuine information regarding water meter bills or to make online payments, PMC advises citizens to use its official WhatsApp chatbot at 8888251001 or visit the official portal: http://watertax.punecorporation.org.
