These projects were found violating regulations designed to curb dust pollution, such as covering sites with green nets, erecting high partitions, sprinkling water, and using dust-monitoring equipment.

Out of the total projects inspected, only 55 have complied with the guidelines and have been permitted to continue work. The remaining 200 non-compliant projects face further scrutiny, with PMC planning to file complaints against them with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). City Engineer Prashant Waghmare stressed the importance of adhering to pollution control norms, especially in light of the severe air pollution impacting Pune’s residents.

PMC has warned that strict action will be taken against projects that continue to ignore these directives, potentially leading to operational challenges and legal consequences.
