In a major crackdown on human trafficking, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit rescued four Thai women from a prostitution ring in Hinjawadi on 24th February 2025. The operation was launched after an undercover informant revealed that a foreign female broker was using WhatsApp to arrange customers for a villa in the Lonavala area, where foreign women were being forced into prostitution.

Acting on the instructions of senior officials, the police, along with the Immoral Human Trafficking Prevention Cell, Crime Branch, devised a strategic plan. Undercover officers posed as customers and booked a villa in Kasarsai, within Hinjawadi Police Station limits, to trap the broker. At around 11:00 PM, the foreign female broker arrived at Surya Villa with the four Thai victims, prompting a swift raid by the police.

The broker was arrested, and cash, mobile phones, and other materials worth Rs. 20,020 were seized from her possession. The four Thai women were successfully rescued and released. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Hinjawadi Police Station under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is being led by Police Inspector Crime, Mr. Hrishikesh Ghadge.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissioner Vinoy Chaubey, joint commissioner Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional commissioner Vasant Pardeshi, DCP Sandeep Doifode, ACP Vishal Hire, SPI Digambar Suryawanshi, with a team comprising Sambhaji Jadhav, Bhagwant Muthe, Mukund Ware, Shraddha Bhargude, Maruti Karchunde, Ganesh Karote, Sunil Shirsat, Neelam Buchade, and Sangita Jadhav.
