Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Goes Fully Digital; Key Services Now Available Online

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has embraced a fully digital transformation, integrating DigiLocker, the Registration and Stamps Department (IGR), and the Aaple Sarkar portal to streamline municipal services. This move aims to eliminate paperwork, reduce delays, and ensure faster, more transparent service delivery for residents.
PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh highlighted the significance of these integrations, stating, “Our goal is to simplify processes and make municipal services more accessible. By automating property transfers, making marriage certificates paperless, and offering services online, we ensure citizens experience faster and more efficient governance.”
Key benefits of the digital upgrades include:
- Property Transfers: Property buyers no longer need to apply separately for name transfers, as the process is now automated.
- Marriage Certificates: Residents can access marriage certificates instantly through DigiLocker, with certificates issued since 2014 now available digitally. This eliminates the need for physical copies and ensures secure storage and retrieval.
- Municipal Services: Citizens can now avail services like trade licenses, sewage connections, and fire NOCs through the Aaple Sarkar portal, making processes more convenient and efficient.
The integration of DigiLocker with PCMC’s marriage registration system ensures a hassle-free, paperless experience for couples, reducing the risk of losing important documents.
This initiative marks a significant step towards paperless governance, enhancing transparency, convenience, and efficiency for Pimpri-Chinchwad residents.
