Pune: Now Konkan Is More Accessible as FLY91 Increases Sindhudurg-Pune Flight Frequency to 5 Times a Week

FLY91, a regional airline based in Goa, has expanded its Sindhudurg-Pune-Sindhudurg flight services from twice a week to five times a week. This move comes in response to rising demand on the route and ahead of the upcoming summer vacation season. The enhanced frequency is expected to significantly boost tourism and business travel between the Konkan coast and Pune.
The increase in flights will improve connectivity between the scenic coastal region of Sindhudurg and the bustling city of Pune. The announcement was made by FLY91’s Managing Director and CEO, Manoj Chacko, who highlighted the airline’s focus on strengthening regional connectivity and supporting local businesses.
“Strengthening regional connectivity is at the heart of FLY91’s mission. Increasing the frequency of our Sindhudurg-Pune service reflects our commitment to making travel easier and more accessible,” said Chacko. He also shared that the airline aims to offer daily flights on this route in the future, depending on demand and infrastructure.
Capt. Jai Singh Sadana, Chief Adviser & Head of Sindhudurg Airport, noted that the increased frequency will not only help local residents travel to Pune but also attract more tourists from Pune to the emerging coastal destination of Sindhudurg.
Sindhudurg’s Chipi Airport, developed by IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited, can handle aircraft like the A320 and B737 and manage up to two million passengers annually. This airport plays a vital role in enhancing connectivity to Maharashtra’s Konkan region.
Currently, FLY91 operates flights to seven destinations: Goa, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jalgaon, Sindhudurg, and Agatti (Lakshadweep). With its home base at Manohar International Airport, Mopa (Goa), the airline plans to connect over 50 cities in the next five years, focusing on tier 2 and tier 3 cities across India.
