Pune: New Terminal at Pune International Airport Begins Operations
A historic day for Pune!
The operations of Pune International Airport’s brand new terminal building commenced today. The terminal was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi in March and it officially started serving passengers today.
As an inaugural gesture, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, handed over the boarding pass to the first passenger traveling on the Air India Pune-New Delhi flight.
Key Features of the New Terminal:
- Spans across 52,000 sq.m. area
- Capacity to cater to 90 lakh passengers per year, 3000 passenger every hour
- Fully equipped with 34 check-in counters
- 12 X-Ray baggage scanners
- Combines technology with Pune’s rich cultural heritage through stunning aesthetic creativity
Mohol said, “I am confident that Punekars and people of Western Maharashtra will experience a seamless flying experience, as envisioned by PM Narendra Modi.”
