Pune: Minister Chandrakantdada Patil Pushes for Rapid Completion of Baner-Pashan Link Road

Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakantdada Patil has urged the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to prioritize the completion of the 36-meter link road in Baner-Pashan. He emphasized the importance of taking local residents into confidence and addressing civic issues promptly.

During an inspection and review of various municipal works in the area, Minister Patil, along with PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosle, Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Patil, Chief Engineer Aniruddha Pawaskar, Superintendent Engineer Amar Shinde, and Deputy Commissioner Ganesh Sonawane, visited key sites including the Baner-Pashan Link Road and the installation of an STP plant on the Baner High Street.

Minister Patil noted that the delay in completing the 36-meter link road in Baner is causing significant inconvenience to local residents. He directed the PMC to expedite the land acquisition process, move back protective walls of housing societies, and seek police assistance for removing encroachments if necessary. He also suggested submitting a proposal if additional funds are required.

The first phase of the Ivory Estate-Someshwarwadi Road work has been completed, and Minister Patil urged the PMC to promptly finish pedestrian pathways, streetlights, and other remaining tasks. He also highlighted the need to expedite land acquisition for the next phase.

At the sewage management project at Kalmakar Nala in Ganraj Chowk, Baner, Minister Patil noted the inconvenience caused to nearby residents by the water flow through the nala. He instructed that the tender process for the STP be completed swiftly and the work commenced without delay.

Minister Patil interacted with local residents during his visit to understand their difficulties. He directed the PMC to resolve issues related to water supply, garbage, and faulty sewer lines immediately. He suggested holding weekly review meetings in the regional office of the PMC to monitor progress.

Furthermore, Minister Patil directed that the work on the High Street road in Balewadi be completed immediately. He instructed the municipal commissioner to engage with landowners, resolve their issues, acquire the land, and expedite the road work.
