The association cited rising production costs as the primary reason for the price hike, emphasizing the need to ensure the financial well-being of dairy farmers. The revised prices will be as follows:

  • Cow’s milk: ₹56-₹58 per liter (up from ₹54-₹56)
  • Buffalo’s milk: ₹72-₹74 per liter (up from ₹70-₹72)

During the meeting, concerns about adulteration in paneer were also discussed. The members stressed the importance of public awareness campaigns to combat this issue and resolved to approach the government to expedite pending subsidies for dairy farmers. Additionally, the association plans to meet with officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Minister of Dairy Development to demand stricter action against milk adulteration.

The meeting was chaired by association president Gopalrao Mhaske and attended by honorary secretary Prakash Kutwal, Sangamner Milk Union president Ranjitsingh Deshmukh, dairy industry expert Shripad Chitale, and Pune District Milk Union president Swapnil Dhamdhere.
