Pune: Major Fire Breaks Out at Bio-Energy Firm in Mulshi, No Casualties Reported

A major fire broke out at Praj Matrix, a bio-energy firm located in Urawade near Pirangut, Mulshi tehsil of Pune district, on Friday evening, police confirmed. The incident occurred around 9 PM, but no casualties were reported.

Five fire tenders from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) were dispatched to the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze, said Sandip Chavan, Assistant Police Inspector of Paud Road Police Station.

According to the fire brigade, the fire originated on the third and fourth floors of the four-storied building. Vijay Mahajan, a fire officer, stated, “Chairs and other furniture were gutted on the third floor, and a solar panel was damaged on the fourth floor. Fortunately, no staff were present at the time of the incident.”
