Pune: Land Acquisition for Purandar Airport Moves Swiftly, to be Completed in 6 Months; Private Agencies to be Hired for Land Measurement

Pune, March 26, 2025: The land acquisition process for the much-anticipated Purandar International Airport is gaining momentum. A total of 2,673 hectares of land across seven villages—Pargaon, Khanwadi, Kumbharvalan, Ekhatpur, Munjwadi, Udachiwadi, and Vanpuri—will be acquired for the project.
To accelerate the process, the state government plans to enlist private agencies for land measurement. Additionally, necessary modifications in “Survey Version-2” will be implemented to ensure efficiency. The Pune district administration aims to complete the land acquisition within six months.
A proposal to appoint three officers for the acquisition has already been submitted to the state government, with approval expected this week. Once sanctioned, a joint land measurement will be conducted as the initial step.
Breakdown of Land Acquisition:
- Pargaon (972 hectares) – Survey No. 1542
- Khanwadi (451 hectares) – Survey No. 381
- Kumbharvalan (341 hectares) – Survey No. 424
- Vanpuri (330 hectares) – Survey No. 362

With the use of advanced land measurement technologies like “Course & Rover,” the survey process is expected to be more efficient. However, given the scale of land required, authorities are bringing in private agencies to expedite the work. The land acquisition proposal is expected to be finalized soon, paving the way for the next phase of the Purandar Airport project.
