Pune: Indian Army, Fire Brigade, and Local Authorities Rescue Hundreds Amidst Flooding
In response to the severe flood situation in Pune, the Pune Municipal Corporation’s fire brigade is actively rescuing citizens stranded along the city’s river banks.
The fire brigade, led by Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potfode, along with twenty fire officers and nearly three hundred jawans, has been working tirelessly across various locations.
Murlidhar Mohol, Lok Sabha MP from Pune and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, commended their efforts.

- 31 citizens from Rajput Brick Kiln, Khilarewadi
- 48 civilians, including a paralyzed boy and a pregnant woman, from Tapodham, Warje
- 15 citizens from Pulachiwadi, Deccan
- 10 citizens from Patil Estate
- 50 citizens, including three boat waterers, from Sinhagad Road
In addition to the efforts of the fire brigade, assistance from the Indian Army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is being utilized to manage the flood situation in Pune. The district administration has appealed to citizens not to panic and assured that all necessary amenities will be provided to those affected by the heavy rains.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar emphasized the importance of coordination among all concerned parties to mitigate the impact of the natural calamity and ensure the well-being of the affected citizens.
