Pune/Hinjawadi, April 01, 2025: Residents of Hinjawadi Phase 3, particularly in the Bhoirwadi region, are enduring severe hardships due to persistent power outages, with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) failing to address their grievances.

Over 10,000 families, including IT professionals, are struggling with frequent and prolonged electricity disruptions, severely disrupting daily routines.

Affected residential societies such as Melange Residences, Fusion Towers, Livmo, Tinsel County, Coral, and 32 Pinewood, along with several PG accommodations, are spending lakhs of rupees annually on diesel to keep essential services running. Generators are being used to power lifts, water pumps, and common area lighting, with Melange Residences alone reporting an additional yearly expense of ₹7-10 lakh.

Frustrated residents have criticized MSEDCL for its inaction despite repeated complaints, even as the government promotes renewable energy solutions. The heavy reliance on diesel generators is not only costly but also environmentally unsustainable. Local engineers have been accused of giving false assurances without implementing long-term fixes.

The community is now urging authorities to intervene and hold MSEDCL accountable, demanding immediate corrective measures. As Hinjawadi is a crucial IT hub, residents stress the need for reliable infrastructure and uninterrupted power supply—a basic service they are already paying for.
