Pune: Government approves nursing college and paramedical courses at YCM hospital in PCMC
The Urban Development Department of the State Government has given in-principle approval for starting a B.Sc Nursing College and Paramedical Courses at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
This will now help the nursing and other departments working for patient care in municipal hospitals. The students of Pimpri Chinchwad city and those from outside the city will get an opportunity to receive nursing education at a low cost. Additionally, 24 posts in various cadres will be created for this nursing college.
Various measures are being implemented by the Municipal Corporation to further strengthen the medical facilities in the city. In line with this, the
Municipal Corporation intended to start a Nursing College at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital. A proposal in this regard was sent to the state government, and this proposal has received government approval. The nursing college will be started on the third, fourth, and sixth floors of the 11-storey new building in the hospital premises. It is proposed to recruit 60 students for the B.Sc. Nursing program. Since this course is four years long, a total of 240 students will contribute to or participate in nursing service over all four years. Additionally, if other paramedical courses (BPMT, PGDMLT) start at full capacity, 300 to 400 trainees will be available for various departments.

After the start of the B.Sc Nursing College and Paramedical courses at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, the nursing and other departments will receive support in the functioning of YCM Hospital. A Post Graduate Institute, B.Sc Nursing College affiliated with Yashwantrao Chavan Hospital, and paramedical courses will be started at YCM Hospital to help strengthen the patient care provided by the municipal corporation.
