Pune: Fatal Collision Between Container and Car Near Shirur Claims Three Lives, Including Father and Daughter
A tragic road accident near Shirur in Pune district late Sunday night claimed the lives of three people, including a father and his daughter, after a speeding container collided with their car. The incident occurred around 8:30 PM on March 23 on the Nhavare-Talegaon road.
According to police reports, Kailas Krushnaji Gaikwad (49), his daughter Gauri Gaikwad (20), and their relative Ganesh Mahadev Nirlekar (25) died on the spot. Kailas’s wife, Durga Gaikwad (48), sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. The family was traveling from Talegaon Dhamdhere to their village, Nhavare, when the container, coming from the opposite direction, rammed into their car near Sarke Vasti.
The container driver fled the scene immediately after the crash. Authorities have registered an FIR against the unidentified driver for negligent driving and are conducting a search operation.
The Shirur Police are investigating the incident and have urged witnesses to come forward with any information.
