The recovery campaign is being closely monitored by Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar, who is conducting field inspections across branch offices in the Pune Zone. Supervising engineers and staff are actively engaged in disconnecting power for defaulters and ensuring compliance with the disconnection measures. The initiative aims to address MSEDCL’s financial dependency on monthly bill collections, which are crucial for electricity procurement and other operational expenses.

In Pune city aloneRs 40.09 crore remains unpaid by consumers, leading to the disconnection of 10,177 defaulters’ power supply. Similarly, Pimpri-Chinchwad has Rs 18.40 crore in arrears with 7,796 disconnections reported. Rural areas such as Ambegaon, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Mulshi, Rajgad, and Haveli collectively owe Rs 29.96 crore, resulting in power cuts for 7,461 consumers.

MSEDCL has repeated its appeal for immediate payment of dues to avoid further inconvenience.
