Pune: Crime Branch Arrests Duo for Planning Revenge Killing, Seizes Pistol and Round
Pune, January 13, 2025: The Crime Branch, Unit-3, Pune, arrested two individuals and seized a country-made pistol along with one round in connection with a revenge plot. The incident occurred on DP Road, Erandwana, Pune, where police apprehended Akash Baliram Bidkar, aged 24. The seizure included a pistol and one round, valued at ₹40,500.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Bidkar had a land dispute with his maternal uncle and had threatened to kill him. Bidkar had procured the weapon through an intermediary from a wanted accused in Hadapsar. The weapon was then handed over to Subhash Balu Margale, also 24 years old. Both Bidkar and Margale were arrested, while the search for the wanted accused continues. The wanted accused has a prior police record.
A case has been registered against the accused under Alankar Police Station Crime Reg. No. 05/2025 under sections of the Arms Act 3, 25, and Maharashtra Police Act Section 37 (1) and 135. The investigation is being led by Assistant Police Inspector Gyaneshwar Dhawale, Crime Branch Unit-3, Pune City.
This successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shailesh Balkavade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime 1) Ganesh Ingle. The investigating team included Senior Police Inspector Rangrao Pawar, Assistant Police Inspector Gyaneshwar Dhawale, Police personnel Sharad Vakse, Sanjiv Kalambe, Sujit Pawar, Dnyaneshwar Chitte, Ganesh Shinde, and Sonam Nevse.
