The Skin Spray Gun, developed under the Biomedical Engineering and Technology Incubation Centre (BETiC) at COEP, is a breakthrough medical device that allows surgeons to uniformly spray a suspension of skin tissue particles over large wound surfaces. This innovative method is minimally invasive, less painful, and highly effective in treating trauma, surgical, and chronic wounds.

Developed by Experts from COEP Tech and BJ Medical College

This medical innovation is the result of collaborative efforts by Saiprasad Poyarekar, Chetan Mahale, and Dr. Sandeep Anasane from COEP Tech, working closely with Dr. Nikhil Panse, a renowned surgeon from BJ Medical College, Pune. Dr. Panse’s clinical guidance played a crucial role in refining the device for practical application in healthcare settings.

According to COEP Tech University, the Skin Spray Gun simplifies the wound treatment process, reduces the risk of infection, promotes faster healing, and saves valuable time during surgeries. Its simplicity, speed, and cost-effectiveness make it especially valuable in regions with limited access to advanced medical facilities.

Pacify Medical Technologies to Commercialize the Device

Pacify Medical Technologies Pvt. Ltd., the startup that has received the licensed technology, was originally incubated at BETiC, COEP Technological University, and is currently incubated at SINE IIT Bombay. The startup is committed to bringing this innovative solution to the healthcare market and improving patient care across the country.

This move highlights COEP Tech’s continuous efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, demonstrating how engineering expertise can create impactful medical solutions. The Skin Spray Gun stands as a prime example of how collaborations between academia, medical experts, and startups can lead to meaningful advancements in healthcare.
