Pune is witnessing an unusual surge in temperatures, resembling the heat of April despite it being just the end of February. Maximum temperatures have already breached 38°C, making Pune one of the hottest places in Maharashtra, along with Konkan, where temperatures are nearing 40°C in some areas.

  • Shirur: 37.9°C
  • Dhamdhere: 36.9°C
  • Girivan: 36.5°C
  • Chinchwad: 36.4°C
  • Dudulgaon: 36.4°C
  • Purandar: 36.3°C
  • Wagholi: 36.1°C
  • Lavale: 35.8°C
  • Magarpatta: 35.6°C
  • Shivajinagar: 35.6°C

Other regions in Pune, including Pashan (35.5°C), Baramati (34.6°C), and Indapur (34.4°C), are also experiencing warmer-than-usual temperatures.

Weather Outlook and Expert Insights

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Pune’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 37-38°C, while minimum temperatures will range between 17-22°C in the coming days. Rising night temperatures have been observed across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, with forecasts indicating a gradual increase in daytime temperatures over southeastern Maharashtra and parts of Saurashtra after 23rd February.

Weather experts advise farmers to remain vigilant as the rise in temperature may impact standing crops. While extreme temperature phases are not new, climate change is intensifying these variations.
