Pune: Bomb Threat at Bavdhan School Turns Out to Be Hoax, Police Searching for Culprit

Pune witnessed a security scare on Thursday (February 13) when a private school on Sus Road near Bavdhan received a bomb threat via email. The alarming message, sent to the school principal, claimed that a bomb had been planted on the premises, prompting immediate action from the police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).
Upon being informed, the local police and BDDS team quickly reached the school, ensuring the safe evacuation of students and staff before conducting a thorough inspection. After an extensive search, no explosives or suspicious objects were found, confirming the threat as a hoax.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Gaikwad stated that an investigation is underway to trace the origin of the email and identify the sender. Authorities suspect the email may have been part of a prank intended to cause panic. Meanwhile, the police have urged citizens to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors.
This incident comes amidst a series of similar bomb threats reported across the country. Recently, Jodhpur AIIMS received an email warning of an RDX bomb attack, which was later determined to be a false alarm. Additionally, Kerala Police were threatened via social media about bomb blasts at key locations, though no credible threats were found.
With investigations ongoing, Pune police have assured the public that they are taking all necessary steps to identify the culprit behind the school bomb threat.
