Pune: BMW Driver Urinates at Traffic Signal, Engages in Obscene Act; Accused Booked by Police

In a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage, two men in a BMW were booked by the Pune city police on Saturday for urinating in public and engaging in obscene acts at a traffic signal in Yerawada. The incident occurred around 7:30 am at Shastrinagar Chowk when Gaurav Ahuja, one of the accused, stepped out of the vehicle, left its door open, and began urinating on the road divider.
When bystanders objected, Ahuja allegedly reacted with obscene gestures before fleeing in the high-end car. His co-passenger, Bhagyesh Oswal, was seen holding a beer bottle. Oswal was later detained by the police and sent for a medical examination, while Ahuja remained on the run. However, by evening, Ahuja admitted his wrongdoing in a video post and issued a public apology, promising to surrender. He was later detained by the Karad police.
As I stated this morning, Gaurav Ahuja is not a first-time offender, he’s a habitual criminal with a long history of offenses. He knows the law, how to exploit legal loopholes, and how to evade arrest. His past record is filthy!

Viral videos recorded by locals captured the incident, with some witnesses claiming the same car returned to the spot shortly after. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav stated that CCTV footage had been reviewed, and teams were formed to arrest the accused. Ahuja, a businessman with a prior criminal record, was booked in 2021 in a high-profile cricket betting racket.
