The HSRP system enhances vehicle security by including a unique identification number (UID) and tamper-proof features, making it difficult to forge or replace. Authorities emphasize that HSRP registration helps curb vehicle theft and ensures proper documentation.

How to Apply for HSRP Plates

Vehicle owners can visit the official transport department website (http://transport.maharashtra.gov.in) or an authorized HSRP vendor to schedule an appointment and install the plates. The process involves:

  • Selecting a fitting center and an appointment slot.
  • Online submission of vehicle details and confirmation of the appointment.
  • Visiting the selected installation center on the assigned date for HSRP plate installation.

Authorities are repeatedly urging drivers to comply before the deadline to avoid penalties and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Those failing to install HSRP plates within the stipulated timeframe may face enforcement action by the transport department.

For further details, vehicle owners are advised to visit the nearest Regional Transport Office (RTO) or the official website: http://transport.maharashtra.gov.in.
