Pune: Alert Issued for Citizens on Pavana River Banks Due to Heavy Rainfall
All citizens residing near the banks of the Pavana River are hereby informed that heavy rainfall is occurring in the Pavana Dam catchment area.
As of today, 25th July 2024, at 12:00 PM, the Pavana Dam Reservoir is 72% full. Given the substantial rainfall and the potential increase in water inflow, there is a high likelihood that water will start discharging from the Pavana Dam to the Pavana riverbed through the dam spillway.
Residents on the banks of the Pavana River are strongly advised not to enter the riverbed. Agricultural pumps, riverbank agricultural implements, and any similar materials or animals should be moved immediately to prevent any damage.
It is crucial to inform citizens in the low-lying areas and request everyone to take proper precautions and cooperate with the Irrigation Department to ensure safety.
