Pune International Airport has achieved a significant milestone in the global Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, climbing from 74th in Q3 2024 to 67th in Q4 2024. The airport’s ASQ rating improved from 4.84 to 4.91. This progress reflects the airport’s commitment to enhancing passenger satisfaction and operational efficiency, driven by the successful operation of its new integrated terminal building and comprehensive upgrades.

However, the survey also highlighted declines in seven key parameters, including:

  • Staff courtesy and helpfulness during check-ins and screenings
  • Cleanliness of washrooms and toilets
  • Shopping experiences
  • Comfort in waiting areas

Despite these challenges, Pune Airport has outperformed both its memorandum of understanding (MoU) target of 4.68 and the global ASQ average of 4.32 for Q4 2024. The ASQ survey, conducted by the Airports Council International (ACI), evaluates passenger satisfaction across 31 parameters, such as cleanliness, waiting time, and parking arrangements. Pune Airport has excelled in most of these areas, solidifying its position as a competitive player in the global aviation industry.

Santosh Dhoke, Director of Pune International Airport, emphasized the airport’s achievements, stating, “This 7-place jump in ranking reflects our strong commitment to service excellence. We have reduced congestion through initiatives like buses and multilevel parking, ensuring a smoother experience for passengers.” He also highlighted that the survey is conducted by companies from Canada to assess global standards at Pune Airport, calling it a “proud moment for Punekars” as the airport provides world-class services.

Pune Airport, the ninth busiest in India and third busiest under the Airports Authority of India (AAI), remains focused on enhancing facilities and addressing passenger concerns to maintain its upward trajectory in global rankings. The airport’s consistent quarterly improvement in service quality underscores its dedication to becoming a leader in the international aviation industry.
