Pune: 15-Year-Old Boy Stabbed to Death by Maternal Uncle in Narhe Area

Pune/Narhe, 30th March 2025: A 15-year-old boy was brutally stabbed to death by his maternal uncle following a minor dispute in Pune’s Narhe area on Sinhagad Road late Friday night. The accused, who initially fled the scene, was later apprehended by the Pune police.
The victim has been identified as Gajanan Gajkosh (15), a resident of Dharavi, Mumbai, while the accused is Medhanath Ashok Takse (41), residing in Manajinagar, Narhe. A formal complaint was filed by Mangesh Dattatray Oval (31), the brother-in-law of the accused and a resident of Krishnanagar, Narhe.
According to the Sinhgad Road Police, Gajanan was staying with his uncle, Meghnath, in Narhe when an argument broke out between him and Meghnath’s son. The altercation turned violent, with Meghnath allegedly beating Gajanan with a belt before stabbing him in the chest with a kitchen knife. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Gajanan succumbed to his injuries before receiving treatment.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam visited the crime scene upon receiving the report. The Sinhagad Road Police arrested Meghnath later that night. Preliminary investigations suggest that the murder stemmed from a trivial dispute.
