Pune: ₹785.75 Crore Approved for Development of Service Road on Pune-Satara Highway to Alleviate Traffic

In a significant development for Pune, the central government has approved a fund of ₹785.75 crore for the improvement and rehabilitation of service roads on both sides of National Highway-48 within the city limits. The decision was announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who expressed his gratitude to the Modi government for the approval.

The project, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), and PMRDA, aims to address the persistent issues of traffic congestion and safety in the urban areas of Pune. The initiative includes widening the service roads and upgrading the existing footpaths to stronger, more durable structures.

Pune Lok Sabha MP and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, highlighted that the project will significantly ease traffic congestion in the vicinity of National Highway-48, benefiting the city’s residents and commuters.

This development is expected to enhance the overall infrastructure and safety of Pune’s urban areas, providing a smoother and more efficient travel experience for all.
